Coffee Capsule Recycling

Indonesso decided to use aluminium capsules for the Nespresso line and PP plastic for the Dolce Gusto line. Aluminium and PP plastic guarantee to keep the aroma and freshness of the coffee and are 100% recyclable. We don't want to use any biodegradable / compostable bioplastic, because in Indonesia aren't special compost facilities available to degrade/compost these materials. Therefore we think the coffee capsule recycling is the best way to keep the CO2 footprint as small as possible.

In Bali we are mostly in direct contact with our customers and offer a free recycling program in cooperation with Eco Bali, a well-known foreign-owned recycling company based in Kerobokan. We offer the same recycling program to our high-consuming clients, such as hotels and resorts.

Collect all your used capsules in a container or bag. When you place your next order with Indonesso, inform us about your coffee capsule recycling. As soon as Indonesso delivers your next shipment of coffee capsules, you can return your old capsules to us.

How to help us?

There is also some effort needed from our customers to keep the CO2 footprint as small as possible.
The reason is, that some waste management services can’t separate the used coffee ground and the
aluminum waste. That’s why we made a step-by-step instruction.

1. Open capsule with a knife.
2. Take out the coffee ground for your household compost or the food waste.
3. Wash them out with hot water.
4. Recycle the used pods in your household recycling.
